Project Description
ICE planned to build a geothermal power plant at Miravalles, Guanacaste, Costa Rica and aiming this objective they surveyed and developed the geothermal resources. After ICE that concluded the geothermal potential was more than 140 MW, West JEC was requested in 1981 to conduct the power plant feasibility study. ICE obtained a financial assistance from the OECF(CR-P1), and built a 55 MW geothermal power with 36 km and 33 km associated transmission lines. The project was completed in March 1994.

Outline of The Services
Consulting Services for re-evaluating the resource Feasibility
Study and Engineering Design, Preparation of Technical Specifications, assistance in bidding process and construction supervision(55 MW X 1)

Study on existing data including Feasibility Study Reports, Basic Design Report and others.
Site selection.
Basic and detailed design for power house, control building, T/G foundation, etc.
Typical design for cooling tower foundation.
Preparation of techinical spescification.
Assistance in bidding process.
Assistance in check/review of manufacturers drawing.
Assistance in inspection & witness of shop test.
Assistance in project inspection & supervision, acceptance test, start-up operation & maintenance.
Training of ICE's engineers.
